Ankle Movement can be hindered by various everyday factors such as occupational hazards, repetitive movements, dehydration, trauma, or emotional. Traditional Ankle Rehabilitation, often relies on linear stretching and strengthening, has frequently been found lacking in effectively addressing improved ankle movement.

At Feel SOMA, we adopt a more nuanced and comprehensive “reconditioning” approach. Instead of pinpointing a single tissue as the source of discomfort, we focus on all the tissues involved, including nerve, muscle, bone, skin, fascia, blood, and lymph. This method recognises the interconnected nature of these tissues and emphasises the importance of neural communication, movement patterns, and fluid flow.

Our program is designed for those who may not have access to tools like rollers or balls that typically aid in changing tissue response. Instead, the emphasis here is on specific movements, known as fascial mobilisers, that directly target regions of the fascia and bones that can become restricted, especially in the ankle area. These low-speed, low-force movements enhance neural response, improve mechanical patterns, and increase fluid flow, allowing the tissues to reset and integrate in a more natural and inclusive manner.

Program Duration – 10-15 mins

When – Easy and effective way to prepare tissues in any environment; before, during or after sessions.

Program Flow – follow the Preparation section, do both sides of the body, then repeat on the side that feels more restricted.

Terminology – We use innovative techniques that may differ in name and location. The instructional videos and coaching will assure you of a positive experience.

SFM – Fascial Mobilisers are our way of moving the tissues, we don’t stretch. 45-60 secs each

  • Remember to breathe when performing the program, this will ensure tissue adaptation.
  • Keep the movements at low speed and low force, nothing should be forced.
  • Listen and perform the movements with the video until you feel confident to perform by yourself.

Progress Meter – upon completion of viewing a video, wait a few seconds for the next video to automatically appear. This will then update your progress meter after each viewing. Manually clicking on the next video will disrupt the progress meter.
